Among the best small ping pong tables, Stiga Space Saver is a name that has gained a lot of attention from table tennis lovers.
So what makes it stand out?
In this STIGA Space Saver table tennis table review article, let’s do a little comparison with its cousin Stiga Volt to see the difference.
Quick navigation
Stiga Space Saver vs Stiga Volt – Which is Better?
The overall Stiga Volt review indicates that this table is a pretty good version for those who want to play tennis at home.
It has all the features that a foldable Ping Pong table top needs.
But when putting Stiga Space Saver vs Stiga Volt on the scale, it’s clear that Space Saver still shows its unbelievable weight.
First, Space Saver is quite compact, taking up only 3/4 of the size of the ping pong table.
Therefore, it is the ideal choice for small spaces such as offices or homes.
Other than that, I also appreciate its user-friendliness.
Whether you are an experienced person or a beginner, you can use it easily.
Instead of struggling with assembling parts, this version of STIGA allows users to use it immediately after unfolding.
What’s more, the price is also a big plus for this model.
It can save you some money compared to other models in the compact ping pong table segment.
Although ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) does not recognize it in official tournaments, it is still a high-quality product in terms of entertainment, practice, and price.
If you are an amateur and are looking for a table that is easy to set up and suitable for small spaces, Space Saver is a choice worth considering.

STIGA Space Saver Review
Below is a detailed analysis of the product’s features to help you evaluate it more comprehensively and accurately.
Surface & Playing Experience
The quality of the table is one of the important factors affecting the outcome of a table tennis match.
Taking a closer look, a table is only good when it has a thick surface.
That’s why we were so impressed when we found out that STIGA used MDF (medium density fiberboard) for the tabletop for this version.
Not only that, it also has a thickness of up to 1.25 inches.
Normally, you’ll have to pay twice as much for a standard-sized ping pong table with this thickness.
Perhaps the manufacturer put a lot of effort into creating a small version of STIGA Advantage with as many original features as possible.
Here, they use multiple layers of paint to increase the smoothness and flatness of the countertop.
This gives the ball a better bounce anywhere on the table.
Therefore, the manufacturer is also careful to use direct printing technology to print white stripes on the table instead of using easy-peel stickers.
It might not feature the standard ITTF thickness;
the high bounce makes it unsuitable for professional tournaments.
However, it is perfectly suitable to meet your pure sports needs.

Frame & Undercarriage
It is not natural that Stiga fondly calls her Space Saver child “Small But Mighty” because it deserves it.
The version comes with an extremely sturdy frame thanks to the 1.25″ square steel leg system.
Covering the frame is a layer of powder coating to help save it for durability and increase the product’s aesthetics.
It also has cross support beams to prevent the frame from wobbling.
In summary, we highly recommend these designs because they are more sturdy, and have many features that a portable ping pong table or a full-sized ping pong table never has.
Legs, wheels, height levelers
As mentioned above, Space Saver uses 1.25″ square steel legs.
Each comes with a height adjuster to ensure the table surface is always in the most balanced state.
Also, the bottom of each foot has rubber caps to protect the floor from being scratched when moving.
Foldability & other usefulness
Well, this is the part that we enjoyed the most in this Stiga Space Saver review article. Why?
Because it can do more than what you think about a regular ping pong table.
Although in the small product segment, these versions are not inferior to any full-sized table.
It allows you to split it into two independent halves easily.
From an original table, you have two smaller tables with full frames and racks. Interesting, isn’t it?
Each of these new desks measures 35.5 x 40.5 inches.
This is an extremely convenient and user-friendly design.
It allows you to maximize storage space and double the use-value of the product.
In addition to playing sports, you can also use this table to play cards, place special items, etc.
You may also see a few people use it as a dining table!
Assembly & Storage
The advantage of this best small ping pong table is the ability to assemble and store.
Since the Space Saver can be divided into two independent halves of the table, it is easy to move and store.
You can store them in the closet, under the bed, or behind the door.
This is good news for those who own small apartments or narrow spaces.
When you want to play ball, you need to put these two table halves together and install the net frame on top.
The limbs are 100% fully assembled, so you won’t need to set up any other parts.
